Thanks to an annual promotion by CB & Potts Restaurant and Dr. Pepper, two lucky country music fans will head to Las Vegas for the 46th annual Academy of Country Music Awards.

Winners of this trip will receive tickets not only to the ceremony but also a private concert by Lady Antebellum, free airfare to the sizzling sin city of Las Vegas and lodging at the MGM Grand for two nights.

This is the second year the giveaway has taken place.

“Since last year’s winner had such a phenomenal time and the promotion was such a huge success, we thought we would do it again,” said Rams International Promoter Mark Schermerhorn. Rams International is the company that owns CB & Potts.

Entry forms are available at every CB & Potts location in the nation with no purchase necessary. Applicants do, however, have to be 21 and over.
The contest also serves to boost CB & Potts’ MVP e-mail list, which gives customers discounts and coupons for signing up.

“I think it’s great that we have promotions like this,” said Fort Collins CB & Potts Manager Paul Hutson.

Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton will host this year’s ACMAs. A long list of other country artists will be in attendance including Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley and Sugarland.

The value of the entire trip stands at about $6,000. However, Schermerhorn notes that the true value is even greater.

“This is the opportunity of a lifetime. Tickets to these shows are sold a year in advance and the experience and memories these winners will have to see their favorite country music artists up close are priceless,” Schermerhorn said.

Many have already entered for their chance to win.

“The odds might be slim but I am excited to at least have my name in the drawing. You never know what could happen,” said Paige Wey, a junior nutrition major.

The raffle will continue until Feb. 22. Winning names will then be drawn electronically.

“It’s a big deal,” Schermerhorn said.
