Just in time for ski season, Colorado State University’s Warner College of Natural Resources is set to host its third annual Gear Swap.
“The Warner College of Natural Resources has a large student body that is actively engaged in outdoor activities, and this is a great way for them to come out and meet new people,†said Zachary Laraway, president of the WCNR College Council.
The Gear Swap is held every fall and is aimed to occur just when people are starting to think about ski and snowboard season. The most popular items available include skis, snowboards, boots, outdoor clothing and backpacks. Students are also welcome to bring any other items that they think are worthwhile.
“The gear swap was introduced to bring the WCNR student body together,†Laraway said. “It’s also a great way for them to come out and pick up that last item before ski season begins.â€
The event will be held tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. in the WCNR Atrium. In addition to the student booths, there will be prizes, food and participation from local organizations aimed at promoting active lifestyles for Colorado State students outside of the classroom.
All proceeds from the event will fund future WCNR College Council events, including upcoming gear swaps.
CSU students from all departments can set up a booth to sell their used outdoor items for a $2 entry fee. The event is free for students simply looking to buy.
