The Colorado State and CU-Boulder men and women’s club soccer teams took to the pitch Saturday in the inaugural Rocky Mountain College Cup at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City.

Despite the CSU women’s team defeating the Buffaloes 2-1 in the early game, CU’s 3-0 victory over the Rams in the men’s contest won the Buff’s the 2010 Rocky Mountain College Cup, as the deciding scoring factor was based on how many total goals each university scored.

Holly Hoguta’s unassisted goal in the 57th minute of the women’s game proved to be the game-winner for the Rams, giving CSU a 2-0 lead before CU’s Tara Kissler would put one into the net four minutes later.

Taylor Grillo also scored for the Rams.
