CSU is kicking off a Health Fair and Division of Student Affairs Day today in a sweeping effort to get students involved on campus.

It will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Lory Student Center Plaza.

Rachel Gaisford, the marketing coordinator of the Division of Student Affairs, said there will be booths and activities set up on the plaza offering information about the LSC, the CSU Health Network, Campus
Recreation and other organizations on campus.

The LSC will give away a camping gear prize, which includes a new tent, through a raffle. Raffle tickets can be obtained by voting on a new design for the interior of the LSC Theater.

Students visiting this event can also enter a drawing through the Division of Student Affairs for a bike from Recycled Cycles and a gift card to the CSU Bookstore. Other offices and programs at CSU will be
hosting games and giveaways of their own as well.

The CSU Health Network will be providing information about useful health-related aides that CSU provides, such as optometry, dental health and physical therapy.

Pam McCracken, the University Counseling Center director, said it is important for students to learn how to stay healthy during the school year. Students pay both a $37 counseling fee and a health fee, and the
Health Fair shows exactly what services these fees cover.

Campus Recreation will be at the fair as well, offering information about their outdoor programs, intramural sports, the climbing wall, fitness classes, personal training and massage therapy.

The fair will not only focus on health and wellness services, but it will also educate students on what other programs CSU has to offer.
Gaisford said programs such as Off-Campus Life, Student Legal Services, and the Career Center will be there as well.

“The Division of Student Affairs hosts this event each year to connect students with resources that will help them maximize their college experience,” Gaisford said.
