If you have a passion for leadership or have an interest in being a positive part of the community, Student Leadership, Involvement & Community Engagement is the organization for you.

SLiCE offers several opportunities for students to develop skills in leadership, diversity, ethics and community service.

Including classes, workshops, retreats and hands-on involvement with the community, SLiCE is dedicated to providing unique and meaningful experiences that enrich the lives of the participants and those in which they interact.

“Students who become involved in campus service activities are generally happier,” said SLiCE Director Pamela Sampson.

“They have a sense of purpose and commitment. Being involved in projects with other students also creates fond memories.”

Anderson said that anyone can participate in a SLiCE activity.

“You don’t have to consider yourself a strong leader to contribute something to society,” she said. “We welcome everybody, and if we don’t have something that interests you we can certainly point you in the right direction.”

Last year 17,000 students served a collective 300,000 hours to the community locally and across the nation.
