A Loveland non-profit organization is administering free meningitis vaccinations Saturday at a benefit at Edora Pool and Ice Center.

Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sierra’s Race Against Meningitis, a Loveland non-profit organization that works to vaccinate Coloradans against the vicious disease, will have a booth set up to administer free meningitis vaccinations to people 11 to 55.

There are limited quantities available, said Lisa Krizman, one of the creators of Sierra’s Race Against Meningitis. Sierra’s Race Against Meningitis was created in 2007 after 20-year-old Sierra Krizman, a Loveland High School graduate, died of the disease.

The vaccination clinic will be one of many facets of Faceoff Against Meningitis, a benefit to raise awareness of meningitis and its victims that takes place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

On Friday, Aug. 13, the Fort Collins Adult Hockey Association will kick off the event with entertainment, appetizers and a silent auction at the Fort Collins Hilton Hotel on Prospect Road. Private and corporate sponsors donated all auction items.

Thirty two teams will then face off in a tournament at EPIC on Saturday and Sunday.
