Current student government Vice President Tim Hole and Matt Worthington, director of Legislative Affairs for the organization, have entered the 2010-2011 presidential elections.

Elections Manager Kevin Robinson confirmed in a phone call to the Collegian that the duo turned in the paperwork for their campaign Tuesday.

The election bylaws state that any running team eligible can write themselves in before voting begins on April 5, Robinson said.

Hole, who is contending for the vice presidential spot, is slated to graduate in December but, if elected, will stay an extra semester to complete his term.

Worthington is scheduled to graduate in May, but said, he too, plans to stick around if students elect him.

The team’s campaign is centered on solving the higher education “crisis,” Worthington said during today’s public debate on the Lory Student Center Plaza.
