The CSU volleyball played their sixteenth and final conference match of the season on Saturday, knocking off the UNLV Rebels in five sets (24-26, 26-24, 25-27, 25-22, 15-12).
The match marked their second consecutive five-set victory, and a school record 15th conference win of the season.
The Rams (23-4, 15-1) won the conference title one week ago after defeating the BYU Cougars in Provo, Utah. The team celebrated the occasion by welcoming the 2009 Mountain West Conference championship trophy to Moby Arena.
The Rebels (8-17, 5-11) gave the Rams all they could handle, but fell short after seeing set leads of 1-0 and 2-1 go to waste Saturday.
The Rams were led by junior outside hitter Danielle Minch and freshman Megan Plourde, who recorded 22 and 18 kills respectively.
Though the Rams conference fate had already been decided, head coach Tom Hilbert opted to play most of his regulars.
The team will get the week off before playing their regular season finale against the New Mexico State Aggies at Moby Arena on November 28.
