Q: What’s your favorite music genre?
A: I’ve got a pretty wide array of musical interests so I’m not sure I can limit it to one specific genre. I guess the two facets that interest me most are Brit-rock and acoustic alternative.
Q: What’s your favorite album right now?
A: We’ve had this album in rotation for a couple of months, but Julian Plenti’s “Julian Plenti is . . . Skyscraper” is phenomenal. I’ve listened to it front to back countless times. Paul Banks, the lead singer from Interpol, decided to start recording some solo work as a side project and chose the stage name of Julian Plenti. If you’re a fan of Interpol or semi-ambient alternative rock, I’d highly suggest checking it out.
Q: Why should somebody listen to your show?
A: Well, there are plenty of reasons to hear my voice coming out of your speakers. As KCSU’s former DJ Macondo said, “All the boys and girls love Nate because of his charming, non-threatening personality, and his smile once brought a puppy back to life.” Since all of these things are clearly true because they were said on the radio, you should check it out. I also play music and stuff, so that’s cool, too.
