The CSU Rams (2-0 0-0) held on to a late lead to defeat the Weber St. Wildcats (0-2 0-0) in thrilling fashion.
After a James Skelton interception, CSU quarterback Grant Stucker connected with receiver Rashaun Greer down field for a 57-yard completion, setting up a first and goal at the one yard line.
Two plays later, Stucker found tight end Eric Peitz in the corner of the end zone for the go ahead touchdown 24-24.
Weber St. took the ensuing kickoff deep into Ram territory in an attempt to pull off the upset, but CSU lineman Guy Miller recovered a fumbled Weber St. snap with 48 seconds left to ensure the Ram victory.
Stucker downed the ball twice to run out the clock and CSU improved to 2-0, escaping 24-23.
