To help students better experience Colorado’s outdoor recreation opportunities, CSU is holding an informational session for students interested in learning more about hiking in Northern Colorado at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the Student Recreation Center Lounge.
The forum, hosted by the Outdoor Adventure Program, will overview the top 20 trails within an hour drive of Fort Collins, said Rodney Ley, the assistant director for Campus Recreation.
“The goal of the meeting is to introduce newcomers to Fort Collins and to inform them about some of the many hiking opportunities in the area,” Ley said.
The meeting will consist of a PowerPoint presentation with an open lecture and informational handouts.
“We’ll go over some basics of what you should know, what you should carry and other important information,” said J.T. Metcalf, a senior staff member at the OAP.
Mirand Brents, a junior English education major, said, “I think it will be informational, and it’s a good way to expose new people to the area.”
The presentation and handouts will be posted in PDF format at http://oap.colostate.edu for anyone who is unable to attend.
