Larry Penley announced Wednesday that he has resigned as president of CSU, which came as a surprise to some CSU students.
“He’s been here for a long time,” said Tim Mayhew, a junior construction management major. “Just like the election today, change might be good.”
Amanda Cisneros, a sophomore health and exercise science major was surprised as well.
She said she heard something about overspending being a possible reason for resignation, but that she was unsure of what she heard, noting it was a rumor discussed between her and a roomate.
“He [Penley] was really big on going green so I guess someone who’s replacing him, their going to have to be really conscious of the environment at CSU,” she said.
