After a week off, the CSU men’s golf team tees off this morning in the Del Walker Intercollegiate at the Virginia Country Club in Long Beach, Calif.

The Rams, coming off their win in Palm Desert, Calif., have won two out of their three tournaments this year and are hoping for another victory.

Last year in the 12th Annual Del Walker Intercollegiate, the Rams took first place at the par-71 country club and are looking for the same results this year.

“We have four guys who have played this course the last two years, and we are looking for another win,” said head coach Jamie Bermel. The Rams will compete against 12 teams, including Santa Barbara, Pacific, Weber State, Houston and tournament host Long Beach State.

“Long Beach State has a new coach, so I don’t know if they might change the course around on us by switching the pins,” Bermel said. The Rams will conclude play Friday afternoon, but will not head back to Fort Collins right away.

Instead, Bermel and his team will travel to San Diego, Calif., for the final tournament of the fall season Monday and Tuesday in the Sycuan Collegiate Invitational.
