Regarding the article in the 15 October issue entitled “Students seek lower textbook costs” and the associated figure: please, please, please collectively review (or learn for the first time) your high school level mathematics skills.
If the textbook cost in 2004 is two hundred percent of the cost in 1986 then the cost in 1986 is one hundred percent of the cost in 1986, not zero percent of the cost in 1986.
Please redraw the graph correctly and resubmit it. You may at least receive partial credit for it.
