CSU women’s golfer Kayley Kempton carded a final round 1-over-par 73 to finish in a tie for ninth-place and the Rams as a team placed 7th at the Jeannie McHaney/Audry Morehead Invitational Tuesday in Lubbok, Texas.

The Rams lowered their team score by six strokes in the Tuesday’s third and final round but were unable to improve their standing in the 14-team tournament after playing two rounds on Monday.

CSU finished six strokes behind sixth-place Oral Roberts and 50 strokes behind host and winner Texas Tech.

Sophomore Kasey Claussen and freshman Cecilia Edlund tied for 40th while sophomore Natalie Stone and junior Stefanie Ferguson placed in a tie for 54th and 56th, respectively.
