Police on Tuesday night searched for a suspected Peeping Tom prowling neighborhoods, and stealing women’s underwear, near campus.
The suspect has been seen peering into windows, and in two cases, reportedly entered residences where females lived and stole underwear, police said in a written statement.
Fort Collins Police Services described the suspected prowler as a white male, about 150 pounds, 5’10”, wearing baggy blue jeans and a red hoodie.
The series of crimes, which police say may be “sexually motivated,” occurred between early October and late November, according to a police press release.
“I personally am not worried. . We have a security system,” said Lauren Taylor, a junior equine science major who lives in the Chi Omega sorority house. She said that she recalls a few peepers last year who were chased off without incident. “It’s kind of weird.”
The alleged crimes occurred between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m. in the 600 block of South Loomis Avenue, 600 block of South Meldrum, 600 block of South Sherwood, and 100 block of North Meldrum.
Authorities are asking residents to keep their doors and windows locked, and to report any suspicious activity.
Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. Craig Horton at (970) 224-6020.
