Solo artist Blake Brown’s sophomore album “Harboring Secrets” proves that he’s covered much ground since leaving the Denver-based band Monofog.
Returning from the Northwest and recording “Harboring Secrets,” you can feel dreary ominous clouds slow this artist’s tempo. The album shifts from hard rock guitar to an album that is soft and heartfelt, with almost effeminate vocals.
Don’t be led to think that this is a slow album, however. The first track, “War,” and the last track, “Untitled,” both have very powerful openings and lyrics to match.
Combining a little Indie guitar, the sometimes-soft lyrics with a little cello and viola, contributed by Martina Grbac from Matson Jones, make this album a real treat.
