So here we are, again – on the eve of the Rocky Mountain Showdown.

Soon, at least 10,000 CSU students will hurtle down Interstate 25 toward Invesco Field at Mile High at 75 mph (give or take) to watch the most hyped football game of the year.

A lot rides on this game – bragging rights for a year, of course, for us Ram fans. The morale of our football team, too.

And smaller, personal victories – running back Gartrell Johnson III said he’d use Kyle Bell’s season-ending injury as a long-awaited chance to prove himself.

Well, here it is.

Nationwide, media has reported that the Rams have been hobbled along with Bell.

The Rams haven’t beat the Buffs since 2002. In our team’s long history, we’ve suffered far more losses than wins to Colorado-Boulder. On top of it all, we wouldn’t be surprised if the team’s morale is a little bit bruised from the beating it’s taken in the past couple weeks.

Make no mistake – we are the underdogs in this game. So, players and fans, let’s bite hard.

In the vast, chaotic stands of Invesco Field on Saturday, watch the CSU marching band for cues.

Shout loud. Cheer hard. Have fun.

And make sure your Ram team knows you’re doing all three.
