Pie chart breakdown

Apr 132006

In the paper yesterday there was a pie chart that showed the revenue for the athletic department. In this chart there was a large chunk, about 20 percent, that was labeled as miscellaneous revenue. Now, with the athletic department asking for the student fee to be raised to help support them and keep them afloat, I would like to know what an example of miscellaneous revenue is. If this revenue is such a large part of the budget, why not expand it and not raise the student fee? Oh, by the way, if miscellaneous items take up 20 percent of a chart you should at least put a note that says what is included or break it down a little further.
