A major argument is beginning to form in opposition of prescription drugs issued by physicians.
In our culture, prescriptions are viewed as “miracle” drugs that will solve each and every one of our ailments. But lately, it seems many drugs are being removed from the market due to the harm they have caused.
According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, correctly prescribed drugs cause more than 100,000 deaths each year and are the fourth leading cause of death in the United States today.
Also, in an interview with a pharmacist from the AARP, the most frequent drug side effects suffered by those with illnesses include dizziness, headaches, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. When these trusting patients turn to their physician for their abnormal problems, the most common response they are provided is disregard of the doctor’s drug handbook, denial or the tendency to dismiss the patient as a hypochondriac.
