An Ohio state senator has introduced a bill into the state house that would ban the adoption of children by parents who are Republicans. This tongue-in-cheek proposal was written by Sen. Robert Hagan, who says that adopted children raised in Republican households are more at risk for developing "emotional problems, social stigmas, inflated egos, and alarming lack of tolerance for others they deem different than themselves and an air of overconfidence to mask their insecurities." Hagan admitted he has no evidence to support his claims, but then again neither does anyone who would seek to ban adoption by gay parents. With all of the recent "discussion" about gay marriage, I thought this was interesting.
