After suffering a seven-point loss in the Border War against Wyoming on Saturday, the CSU women's basketball team will return to Moby Arena tonight in a contest against the conference-leading BYU Cougars (22-3, 12-2 Mountain West Conference).

With the basketball season coming to an end, the Rams' women basketball seniors look back at the positive things they can take away despite their current 8-17 season record (2-12 MWC).

"We just have to have fun and remember all the good times we've had and everything we've been through," said senior captain Melissa Dennett. "This season didn't go as I expected record-wise, but as far as bonding with my teammates and having an amazing coaching staff who I really admire and respect – it was amazing."

The last time the two teams met the Rams fell to the Cougars 70-54. Sophomore shooting guard Sara Hunter led the Rams in scoring with 15 points, but was held scoreless in the last contest against Wyoming. They were also held to a season-low shooting performance, scoring only 21.1 percent in the first half.

"The last time we played BYU we let them score a lot of points off of turnovers," Dennett said. "This time we'll have to tighten up our offense and take care of the ball."

Senior forward Ambrosia Anderson, who is averaging 18.8 points will lead the Cougar attack. Also averaging double-digits is guard Mallary Gillespie with 10.2 per contest. BYU has started the same five players in every game this season and hold a perfect 12-0 record against teams on the road.

CSU will rely on Dennett as they have all year, who averages 15.3 points per game and a conference-leading 8.5 boards per game.

While their last season hasn't gone as expected thus far, the senior Rams hope to have a memorable final home game.

"My mom and my twin brother will be able to come watch the game so I'm excited for that," Dennett said.
