An armed man robbed a Fort Collins bank Monday morning, escaping in a stolen car with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was injured during the robbery of US Bank at 301 E. Horsetooth Road, according to police reports. Fort Collins police and FBI agents are searching for the robber.

At about 9:30 a.m., a man armed with a handgun demanded money from a bank teller, then fled through the front door. As he escaped in a car, a bank employee wrote down the license plate number.

Police later found the car abandoned in the Willow Grove apartment complex in the 3400 block of South Shields Street. The car was stolen late Sunday or early Monday, according to the report.

Police described the robber as a 20-year-old man, 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall. He was wearing white tennis shoes, a blue-and-yellow jersey, blue jeans, dark glasses and a dark baseball cap, according to the report.

Police ask that anyone with information contact Fort Collins Police Services detective Drew Jurkofsky at (970) 416-2195.
