Saturday's scrimmage marked the one-week countdown to the Rocky Mountain Showdown in Boulder against the Colorado Buffaloes. Head Coach Sonny Lubick put his team through a 90-minute mock game at Hughes Stadium to get his players ready for the upcoming season opener.
"I do believe we got some stuff done today," Lubick said. "It's all the things that might never happen, but all the things you need to work on anyway."
The team was kept in constant movement by altering the position of the ball after every play.
"What today was all about was reviewing all the situations, keeping players alert on the sidelines during a game," Lubick added.
The offense and defense were tested in the drills. The offense was expected to be able to drive the ball down the field starting from the 3-yard line or pound the ball into the end zone from first and goal.
Referees were also present to give players a game-type feel.
Injury report for CU game:
Defensive end Terrance Carter (concussion)-expected to return to practice today.
