Well, a year has gone by and here we are. This year's editorial staff will disperse and a new one will be created to continue bringing you daily campus news, sports and entertainment.
We have had an exciting and sad year. We've said goodbye to classmates Samantha Spady, Bennett Bertoli and David Karspeck in tragic incidents. Hopefully through these tragedies we have all learned something: Keep yourself and your friends safe. Remember this lesson during graduation and end-of-the-year celebrations.
We've become like our rival – University of Colorado-Boulder – and had a few riots in the beginning of the year. This bad behavior does not represent our class or school though; in fact most of us were upset by our classmates' actions in such events.
Through these events we, as a university, saw the banning of beer at Hughes Stadium, an alcohol task force, and our school's name all over the nightly news.
But now we're at the end of the line. For the graduating seniors this is it, for the rest of us we can only hope our future years hold less tragedy and scandal.
The departing editors want to thank you for your readership and feedback – both good and bad. The good kept us going when it got stressful. The bad kept us on our toes.
The returning and new editors hope you continue to use the Collegian as a resource to find out what's going on in your community and to get your thoughts out there to others.
As the great Dr. Seuss once said: "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."
