The CSU women's golf team fired a three-round 882 (+18) to finish fourth at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz., this weekend. The Rams entered the last day of competition three strokes behind third-place Missouri. By the end of Sunday afternoon, the Rams were only able to gain two strokes. Northwestern took first place honors in the 16-team tournament with an 870 (+6).
Senior Trisha Quick led the Rams with a four-under 213 for the tournament. She finished in fifth place, four strokes behind champion Mehan Little of Louisville. She shot the best round of the tournament for the Rams, a two-under 70 in first-round play.
Senior Lynette Duran finished tied for 12th with a three-over 219. Senior Kristen Campos tied for 30th with a 223 (+7), while freshman Chelsea Benton and sophomore Margaret Garehime rounded out the scoring with 228 (+12) and a 232 (+16) respectively.
The Rams compete in their season finally on April 4-5 at the BYU Dixie Classic in St. George, Utah. After that the Rams are slated to compete in the Mountain West Conference Championships in Sunriver, Ore., on April 21-23.
