Ditching the snow and freezing temperatures of Colorado, the CSU women's golf team will be traveling to Tucson, Ariz., to compete in the Mountain View Intercollegiate, which begins Saturday.
The tournament will be hosted by Arizona and concludes on Sunday.
At last year's Mountain View Intercollegiate the Rams carded a three-round total of 902 (+38) to put them in a tie for second place. This will be the Rams second-to-last tournament of the season before the Mountain West Conference Championships in April 21-23 in Sunniver, Ore.
The Rams are coming off their strongest performance of the spring with their third-place finish at the California-Irvine Anteater invitational. Senior Kristen Campos shot the lowest score for the Rams, ending the three rounds with a 228 for a sixth-place finish.
Freshman Chelsea Benton, who is the No. 1 freshman in the Mountain West Conference, tied for seventh with a combined total of 229. She is in the running for MWC Freshman of the Year with a stroke average of 76.80.
After the Mountain View Intercollegiate, the Rams will compete in the BYU Dixie Classic on April 4-5 before playing in the Mountain West Conference Championships April 21-23.
