Held at the Jack Christiansen Track
Saturday starting 10 a.m.
CSU track and field is opening up the outdoor season at home by hosting the Rob Upton Invitational Saturday.
Colorado College, Colorado-Colorado Springs, Northern Colorado and Wyoming will all be competing in the meet.
Six Rams competing this weekend are record holders at the Invitational. Sophomore Magnus Lohse holds the shot put record, and the steeplechase record has senior Mike Nicks' name all over it.
Senior Katrice Thomas owns the record in the 400 meters. Sophomore Janay DeLoach holds the record in the long jump and junior Amanda Huddleston holds the triple jump record. Senior Loree Smith owns the hammer record. Four Rams from the women's team have the school record in the 400-meter relay.
The annual home meet is named in honor of former CSU track and field team member Robinson Upton, who died the summer of 1992 in a rock-climbing accident.
The meet will begin at 10 a.m. with throwing events at the Jack Christiansen track. Jumping events begin at 11 a.m. Running events are scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m. and last until 4:10 p.m.
