Republican Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell is vacating the Colorado

seat in the U.S. Senate and now Democrat Ken Salazar and Republican

Pete Coors are fighting it out for his place in Washington.

This no-holds-barred battle between Salazar and Coors was

recently billed by the Washington Post as one of the eight most

hotly contested Senate races, and many believe it could be key to

which party will hold the majority in the U.S. Senate come

November.

Coors and Salazar both recently talked with the Collegian about

their platforms.
