William “Taylor” Whitmire, a sophomore psychology major,

remained in critical condition Thursday evening at Poudre Valley

Hospital, according to PVH.

Whitmire was assaulted early Wednesday morning at the Sigma Chi

Fraternity House, 635 S. Shields St., said Rita Davis, a

spokeswoman for Fort Collins Police Services.

A 911 call at 1:18 a.m. reported a fight at the fraternity house

and one injured male.

The 20-year-old victim, a CSU student and active member of the

fraternity, was taken to PVH by ambulance with massive head

injuries.

Despite the hospital report, a release from Sigma Chi chapter

stated that Whitmire to be in stable condition.

A suspect was identified Wednesday, but the name is being

withheld pending an arrest. No further information was available

Thursday, Davis said.
