The Collegian sports staff’s predictions for the Rocky Mountain

Showdown at 6 p.m. Saturday at Folsom Field in Boulder. It may be a

little optimistic, but all signs show a CSU victory.

Preston Cagle: CSU 27, CU 24

A lack of experience on the offensive line and at the receiver

position will cost the Buffs, and CSU gets the victory in a

barn-burner at Folsom.

Laura Epple: CSU 21, CU 14

Opening game? Let the Holland days begin.

Bobby Fernandez: CSU 24, CU 21

This should be a close game between two teams with versatile

offenses and unproven defenses, but CSU will rely on its diverse

core of running backs, led by Jimmy Green and Marcus Houston, to

edge CU.

Justin Goldman: CSU 28, CU 17

Holland beats Klatt, and Rams defense gets redemption from last

year’s game.

Stephanie Lindberg: CSU 32, CU 21

If Marcus Houston can hold onto the ball and the defense can

make some good

plays, the Rams have it won.

Joelle Milholm: CSU 35, CU 31

Five touchdowns is a lot to ask for, but between Holland’s bombs

to Anderson and some picks from the secondary, this will be one

action-packed shootout.

Jon Pilsner: CSU 30, CU 24

Holland leads late drive, and CSU pulls off the win in the final

two minutes.
