Position: DB/Return specialist
Positives: Wynn said some scouts have told him he is the best
return man in the draft. Has shown great backward and lateral
movement and does not let receivers push off much in man coverage.
Shows good vision to get to the ball and good leaping ability.
Negatives: His height in not what NFL scouts are looking for in
a starting cornerback. His speed, listed as 4.53 in the 40-yard
dash by Sportsline.com, is also not top caliber. Lack of size could
hurt in tackling abilities at next level.
Outlook: Wynn’s size will knock him down to the mid- to late-
rounds to a team looking for special-teams steal. Wynn said he has
heard fourth to sixth round, which is right where many online sites
have him. SI.com has him late sixth round. He will have to make his
mark on special teams and would be a good nickel or dime back.
Bradlee Van Pelt
Positives: Has clearly shown his leadership skills and
determination to be a quarterback in his years at CSU. He has the
ability to break tackles and make people miss and has improved his
Negatives: The No. 1 knock on Van Pelt has always been his
throwing ability. Despite improvement, his arm strength, accuracy
and tendency to run too often hamper his draft status. Poor time
(4.9) in the 40 at the combine won’t help either.
Outlook: Van Pelt has been projected anywhere from a fourth
round to a late round draft pick. SI.com projects Van Pelt late in
the fifth round and Yahoo Sports rates Van Pelt as the 11th best
quarterback in the draft. He is determined to play quarterback but
said he would consider switching positions in the NFL if it would
get him on the field.
Other Rams in the draft:
Outlook: Besides Van Pelt and Wynn, the six other Rams eligible
for the draft likely will be looking to sign free agent deals with
a team after the seven-round draft is over. Pittman said he may get
drafted in the sixth or seventh round, but all of the players will
have battle to make an NFL roster or practice squad in training
camp. Pauly has the size and skills to make an NFL team but has to
fully recover from a season-ending knee injury he suffered last
year. Yahoo Sports rated Wood as the 23rd best middle linebacker in
