They rarely get the spotlight or the headlines, but this
season’s most underrated Ram players will be showing their skills
at the NCAA’s Sweet 16 tonight. A win will put them in the
championship tournament.
For the most part, the squad has had a very successful season
under the radar. A loss for the football team garners more
attention than a win for the volleyball team.
Bradlee Van Pelt. Dexter Wynn. David Anderson. Katie Jo Shirley.
Dre Downs. Tess Rogers. Which names are most students likely to
recognize? The first three are most well-known for many, yet CSU
has one of the top volleyball teams in the nation.
And pair the team’s enormous talent with the fact that the all
of the players are juniors or younger and you have fantastic
prospects for next season as well.
We are proud of our ladies in the green and gold and we have all
the confidence that they will represent CSU very well in the
tournament. With a 30-4 record – win or lose – the ladies have a
season the football team wishes it had.
