Fantasy Teams taking shape
Another week approaches, and just like in the NFL, Fantasy
Football leagues are starting to take shape. How is your team
doing? Hopefully everyone listened to me and picked up Jimmy Smith,
he has had two big games in the last two weeks. No? Well let’s try
it again.
Love em’- These guys should get all the love this week.
Shaun Alexander. The Bears have given up yards to running backs
all season. Now they must entertain one of the best in the
league.
Marc Bulger. Did anyone see Trent Green throw up and down the
field against the Packers’ defense? If Green did, then Bulger
will.
William Green. Green is finally coming into his own. Last week
he ran for a season-high 145 yards a touchdown in the Browns
victory over the Raiders. This week he faces the Chargers and their
horrible run defense.
Priest Holmes. The Raiders defense is playing terribly. Green
ran all over them, and Holmes should not have any problems this
week.
Others to love. Brad Johnson, Jamal Lewis, Quincy Carter, and
the Saints three-headed monster: Aaron Brooks, Deuce McAllister and
Joe Horn.
Leave em’- These are the guys you might want to leave on the
bench this week.
Any Viking running back you own. Don’t cut these guys, but don’t
start them either. They run into the Denver Broncos and their
feisty defense. No runner has seen a 100-yard game against the
Broncos this year, so don’t expect one from the Vikings’ backs.
Drew Brees. Brees has been playing better but runs into a solid
Browns defense in Cleveland. If you have a better quarterback, go
with him. But if Brees is your man, pick up Vinny Testaverde, he
should have enough to help the cause.
Others to leave. David Boston, Eddie George, the Panthers
defense and Warrick Dunn.
Pick ’em up – Finally, like Jimmy Smith, these guys should be
available on the waiver wire, and need to be picked up soon. They
aren’t playing yet, but when they do, they should contribute.
Michael Bennett- will start at running back for the Vikings when
he returns from injury.
Willis McGahee- Be careful here. He has been cleared to
practice, but if he struggles, the Bills will put him on injured
reserve. However, if he does impress, he will play.
