Nearly 25,000 voters participated in Tuesday’s city municipal election, voting on a mayor, three districts of City Council members and two ballot issues.
Voters in this election had to abide by only a few guidelines. To register in the city of Fort Collins a resident has to have lived in the city for 30 days-and, to vote, they have to be registered 29 days before the election.
Ballots for this election were mailed to registered voters homes.
For this election, the ballot was done completely through mail-in ballot. Fort Collins does mail-in ballot elections, according to the city of Fort Collins, because it increases voter participation. Specifically, the Web site states, it provides a more inclusive process for disabled voters.
