To the Editor:

I am sure there are many veterans of World War II who are members of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign War who volunteered to serve after Pearl Harbor and are willing to volunteer again, although they may be in their 80s.

Why aren’t our legislators in Washington, who are much younger and who are eager to vote for a war resolution, willing to actively serve in Iraq? Although most are physically or mentally handicapped, they are heavy enough to walk through minefields, in order to save a young soldier from death or serious injury.
